Take a Sip For Fair Trade - Ottawa Events Fair Trade Ottawa Équitable (FTOÉ) presents its first annual wine-and-cheese fundraiser to celebrate the bounty of Fair Trade in Canada's Capital. This will be the Fair Trade event of the season, bringing together Fair Trade (chocolate and wine) and local foods (cheese and beer), showcasing the best of Ottawa and beyond. The evening will include speakers – including George Roter, CEO of Engineers Without Borders Canada – special guests, city councillors and representatives from various organizations. Local businesses will be on hand, showcasing their Fair Trade wares for purchase. There will also be a silent auction of Fair Trade items. The event is Ottawa's showpiece of Fair Trade Fortnight, launching Fairtrade Canada's “Take a Step” Campaign. Funds raised will help FTOÉ promote the availability of Fair Trade products in Ottawa, raise awareness about Fair Trade issues and bring Ottawa closer to being named a Fair Trade Town. Lose the Shoes - Beach soccer tournament Registration PRO + SOCCER PRESENTS: Lose the Shoes ll , Ottawa's first annual 3 v 3 beach soccer tournament, is a not-for-profit event that raises funds for the Boys and Girls club of Ottawa. Concert by Yao Muz at lunch time. This year, the Lose the Shoes ll tournament will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Mooneys Bay Beach in Ottawa. Age groups/divisions : 1) U10-U13 2) U14-U17 3) Adults Teams: 8 teams per division; minimum of 3 persons and maximum of 6 persons per team; each team must have a minimum of 1 girl on the field at all times.
